Derek has been involved in the construction industry for 30 years, during which time he has supervised a wide range of projects. Derek has been employed by G K Shaw Ltd for 15 years prior to which he worked with his father’s company Kleinjan Brothers Ltd of Upper Hutt, which was prominent in bridge and reservoir construction.
Derek excels himself with a can-do attitude for unique and sometimes difficult work. His detailed planning, setting out methodology, careful distribution of tasks and provision of resources result in efficient effective operations, safe and generally less risky.
He epitomises the GK Shaw approach, taking immense personal pride in every project with which he and the GK Shaw team are involved.
